Gentlemen's Classic: Smoked Red (Limited Edition)

I was lucky enough to pick up this watch at last year’s British Watchmakers’ Show, and honestly, that alone set the tone. There’s something special about talking directly to the people who actually brought a watch to life, it gives the whole thing a heartbeat before you have even wound it.

Now, I’ve always believed a watch should make you smile. In a world where half the population insists “I don’t need a watch, my phone tells the time,” I’d politely challenge them to look at the Gentlemen’s Classic: Smoked Red and try not to grin. This thing has a guilloché dial so mesmerising it should come with a health warning. The fumé red finish has distracted me on more than one video call, my team probably thinks I’m deep in thought, but really I’m just hypnotised by what is on my wrist.

The open heart window is a lovely touch too. There’s something grounding about seeing that mechanical pulse ticking away, a reminder that no iPhone, laptop, or smartwatch notification can replace the charm of a proper beating movement.

Setup is blissfully simple: wind it, set it, admire it. Mine came on a leather strap which is perfectly comfortable, though in hindsight I think the metal bracelet might have been the smarter choice. That said, the watch sits neatly on the wrist, the sapphire crystal is crystal‑clear, and it transitions effortlessly from office days to jeans and a pint evenings.

In short: it’s a watch that does exactly what a watch should do. It brings joy, starts conversations, and quietly reminds you that craftsmanship still matters. And if it occasionally steals your attention during a Teams call… well, that’s just part of the charm.

Absolutely the best, fit is perfect always gets great comments when its on. Probably low priced for what it is if I'm honest. So good I now have the Green and Black in the Gentleman's Classic (sourced from other collectors) Only the Sky Blue and Classic Navy to go

I had Brought the green version of this watch at the Watch Fair in London a few months ago ,and just didn’t have the cash avail to get the Red version by the time I did it had sold out, so I was overjoyed to see it on the stand at the Watch Fair in Birmingham a few weeks ago, was told it was the last one they had and did I really want a watch that had been handled by loads of people, their wa sonly one answer to that!!!!, so the guys gave me a goo d deal and even throw in the red leather strap which really makes the watch stand out when I am wearing it, I am so happy I have got this watch and very grateful that the guys let me by it and gave me a deal. The Mallory with the Orange Crush face is my next purchase hopefully it still available at Xmas.
Not sure which is my favourite the Green or the Red face both look so good, and both look so good on.

What fascinates me about this watch is its understated elegance, avoiding any hint of ostentatious display. The color scheme is captivating, especially with the red strap, and the small window revealing the inner workings adds a special touch.

I was blown away when I opened the box and saw this watch. The dial definitely has a smoked look to it and the red is deep and rich. The dimensions are just right. I can’t seem to stop wearing it. Everything else is my collection has not been getting any wrist time because of the Gentleman Classic!

Great watch, comfortable on the wrist. The red smoke dial is attractive with the silver case. I personally chose the black strap for a more homely feel. Would definitely recommend Pompeak.

I've been interested in open-heart and small-second watches recently, and I've found the perfect watch that has both! With the Fumé red dial, I knew I'd found the ideal watch to add to my collection. It's an incredible watch and bracelet for the price point.

Delivery was prompt and I received it in the USA in less than a week. Outstanding work Pompeak!

For future bracelet releases, Pompeak might consider two half-links for better fit customization capabilities.

Additionally, in future releases, the crown and crown guard design could be improved upon, as I find grasping the crown challenging.

All-in-all, I'm very happy with the aesthetics, size and features. Well done.
