These are highlighted in bold red.

Simplified Movement Operations

CROWN OPERATION

Please read the below guides to minimise risk of damaging the movement.

Crown positions:
1: Winding
2: Date setting
3: Time setting

WINDING THE MOVEMENT

The Mallory uses a Swiss automatic movement, meaning it winds as you wear it, but you can also manually wind and adjust the time/date via the crown.

If the watch hasn’t been worn for a while, you’ll want to give it a manual wind:

  1. Unscrew the crown
  2. In position 1, gently turn the crown clockwise. (~40 times for a full wind)
  3. You may feel a soft resistance as the mainspring tightens, or a quiet click as the 'clutch' slips past maximum wind — this is normal, but do not repeatedly wind past this point.

💡 Pro tip: Always wind off your wrist to avoid placing pressure on the stem.

SETTING THE DATE

The window at the 3 o’clock position displays the date, which will change as the watch hands pass midnight.

The Mallory's movement also has a quick set date function:

Quick-Set Date

⚠️Before using the quick set date function, make certain that the watch is displaying a time between 4am and 8pm.

This avoids movement damage by ensuring that the automatic date changer is not engaged.
(To avoid confusion, it is recommended to ensure the hour hand is in the 6 o’clock position)

  1. With the watch time set appropriately, unscrew and pull the crown into position 2.
  2. Gently turn the crown clockwise to roll the date forward.
  3. Once complete, push and screw in the crown to reseal the watch.

The date cannot be rolled backwards in manual or quick set functions. An attempt to do so may damage the movement.

⚠️ You’re working with delicate, precise mechanics — always operate the crown slowly and gently.

SETTING THE TIME

1) Unscrew the crown and gently pull out to the time setting position (position 3).
2) Turn the crown until the watch reads the desired time
3) Push the crown back in and turn clock-wise until firmly in place (be careful not to over-tighten the crown as this can damage the movement)

It is recommended to always turn the hands clockwise to minimise long term wear to the movement.

⚠️ You’re working with delicate, precise mechanics — always operate the crown slowly and gently.

Quick Release Straps

Whether you have paired your Mallory with a supple and stylish Top-Grain Leather strap or sleek and durable 316L Milanese mesh bracelet, each is fitted with quick-release pins enabling you to switch in seconds with no tools required.

To use, simply push the pin towards the centre of the strap and gently remove.

LUME

Switch off the lights and your new watch really starts to shine.

Thanks to the use of BGW9 Swiss Super-LumiNova throughout the dial and hand set, the Mallory stays readable in low light.

The lume charges under natural or artificial light. The more rays it’s exposed to, the brighter and longer it glows.

WATER RESISTANCE

The Mallory is rated to 10 ATM (100m), meaning it’s safe for showering, swimming and beachside adventures but it is not recommended to subject the watch to high impact water sports or scuba diving.

The screw-down crown helps form an secure airtight seal, keeping moisture and dust out — and your movement protected.

💧 Always keep the crown screwed down when around water

💧 After exposure, let the watch dry fully before unscrewing the crown

💧 Never open the crown with moisture present — a rogue droplet inside can fog the crystal or worse, damage the movement

If you ever notice fogging or moisture beneath the glass, take it to a service specialist right away.

In order to complete the seal, ensure the crown is fully screwed in before contact with water.
All seals around the crown, case back and glass must be correctly seated and in good condition.
Ensure all moisture is removed from the watch prior to operating the crown.

CARING FOR YOUR NEW WATCH

We pride ourselves on creating the watches we want to wear, from the aesthetics to the materials used, and as such, our watches are designed to turn heads and built to last.

There are however always thing’s you can do to keep your automatic watch working as smoothly as possible:

Wind off the wrist

Should you need to wind the watch, it’s best to take it off your wrist first. This minimises any potential strain on the stem and is much easier to control.

Keeping moisture out

Moisture, along with dust is a movement’s nemesis. It can easily damage the delicate internals of the mechanical work of art.
With up to 100m water resistance, this shouldn't be an issue, provided all seals are closed.

Should you take this watch around water or in a particularly humid environment, be sure to keep the crown firmly screwed down at all times, and ensure all moisture is removed before you unscrew it again to wind or set the time.

Shock and magnets

Whilst the movements are built to resist the effects of both shock and magnetic fields, large sudden shocks may knock the gear train out of sync. Prolonged exposure to strong magnetic fields will also reduce the accuracy of a movement. This falls under general care, but it’s always good practice to look after your watch, no matter how durable.

Servicing

Just like the mechanics on a car, in order to keep the movement running as smoothly as possible, we recommend that your service your timepiece every 3-5 years. This will include checking, cleaning and oiling of mechanical parts along with checking and replacing gaskets to maintain the water resistance, and can be completed by your local service/repair centre.

If you notice a watches movement behaving oddly, it's best to visit a service/repairs shop right away.

If you need help here, please do get in touch.

Warranty

With no batteries in sight, a mechanical watch is one of the most reliable tools you’ll own.
Treat it well, and it’s built to last for generations.

To ensure you get off on the right foot, your new timepiece comes with 2 years warranty.
If you have any problems at all, please do get in touch via our website.
